About Me
I build and ship enterprise AI platforms at scale.
As Director & Group Lead, Agentic AI at Appian since February 2025, I led the teams that delivered Agent Studio from beta to general availability in Appian 25.4. I combine manager-of-managers leadership with hands-on architecture and prototyping, including personally building an MCP Server prototype.
The work advances Appian's thesis that “critical work is done best in a process”: generative AI reasoning runs inside Appian processes that supply deterministic process controls, guardrails, governance, and detailed auditing.
I led AI-assisted development rollout to 800 engineers in six months, personally building Terraform/AWS infrastructure and co-developing deployment controls, and received the Appian Impact Award for boosting developer productivity across the department. Previously, I led a 46-person SRE organization through a reliability turnaround — working with the team to cut critical-outage MTTR from 9 hours to under 3 — and cloud-platform work serving 1,200+ enterprise customers across 21 regions.

- Led the teams that delivered Agent Studio from beta to GA. Restructured four teams using Team Topologies and shared API boundaries for parallel delivery.
- Led the service and architecture redesign from Appian's process engine to a new AI platform with a stateless, API-based agent harness, raising concurrent-agent capacity from 20 to at least 200 agents per Appian single-tenant instance, with 500 concurrent agents demonstrated in testing and no observed degradation in accuracy or per-agent runtime across multi-turn runs.
- Led adoption of open-source agentic backends and harnesses, making platform changes easier to deploy and letting the teams benefit from the evolving open-source ecosystem.
- Implemented a parallel AI-native development lifecycle (AI-DLC) and coached teams on agentic tools; over one year my own team tripled its delivered feature scope, measured in developer-weeks of work and total team output.
- Scaled AI-assisted development across an 800-person engineering org — built the Terraform/AWS infrastructure myself.
- Rated "Exceptional" (top 15%) in the 2025 and H1 2026 review cycles. Appian Impact Award in December 2025 for cross-organizational AI adoption.
- 10+ years of cloud and AWS experience; AWS Solutions Architect – Professional credential earned June 2017
- Led five-squad groups of approximately 50 direct and indirect reports; zero regretted attrition during my SRE tenure
- Personally hired and coached approximately 10 senior engineering leaders and senior managers while leading a 46-person SRE organization; real-time synthetic monitoring took detection and recovery for many common availability incidents from about an hour to under 15 minutes
- MS Computer Science, Georgia Tech — Machine Learning and Computing Systems focus, 3.90 GPA; completed December 2024 while working full-time
- One of the first engineers on Appian's Cloud Platform team in 2014. Led monolith-to-cloud-native migration (2022-2023) serving 1,200+ enterprise customers.
- Completed Appian MBA — an invite-only senior leadership development program.

Leadership Updates
2026 updates: Helped deliver Agent Chat GA in Appian 26.6 with critical late-stage support. The agentic platform now serves many production customers. I also implemented a parallel AI-native development lifecycle (AI-DLC) within the Agentic AI group, coaching teams on agentic tools in their daily work; over one year my own team tripled its delivered feature scope, measured in developer-weeks of work and total team output.
Platform scale: 10×+ concurrent-agent capacity — 20 → 200+ agents per single-tenant instance, 500 demonstrated in testing — after moving from Appian's process engine to a stateless, API-based agent harness built on open-source agentic backends. See the Agent Studio case study →
Feb 2025–present: Director & Group Lead, Agentic AI. Four-team organization design, reusable agentic services, hands-on MCP prototyping, and architecture reviews. Explore Agent Studio →
Jan 2024–Jan 2025: Director & Group Lead, SRE. Led five teams and five managers, 46 people in total, through a CTO-sponsored reliability turnaround. I worked with the team to cut critical-outage mean time to recovery (MTTR) from 9 hours to under 3. Performance-related customer satisfaction rose from 67% to 80% and feature satisfaction from 83% to 90% between Q1 2024 and 2025. Read the SRE turnaround →
